Abstract

Objective To evaluate the efficacy and safety of duloxetine in the treatment of depression.Methods 66 patients who met CCMD-3 criterion for depression episode were randomly assigned to duloxetine group(n=34)and paroxetine group(n=32)for the treatmentof 6 weeks.The clinical efficacy was evaluated by HAMD.The side effects were evaluated by TESS.Results The efficacy was similar for the two drugs.The efficacious rate was 73.5% and the adverse events rate was 41.2%for duloxetine.No significant difference was founded in the adverse events between the two groups Conclusion Duloxetine is an effective drug for depression with good tolerance.
