Abstract

Objective To summarize clinical material and early diagnosis of pulmonary sarcoidosis of 27 patients. Methods A retrospective analysis of 27 cases of pulmonary sareoidosis identified by pathology was conducted. We reviewed the changes in clinical presentations, radiographic features and the level of serum calcium and serum angiotensin-converting-enzyme(SACE) activity, etc. Results Pulmonary sarcoidosis manifested clinically in a variety of forms. The presence of hilar adenopathy on chest radiography and change of some serum biochemical indicators might suggest the diagnosis of sarcoidosis. All cases were confirmed through mediastinoscopy-guided biopsy or transbronchial lung biopsie. Conclusion Inquiring carefully combining with radiographic features and biopsy specimens are the keys to early diagnosis of pulmonary sarcoidosis. Some biochemical indicators such as serum calcium and SACE activity have certain value in the diagnosis.Corticosteroid can improve clinical presenting and radiographic features of cases with pulmonary sarcoidosis.
