Abstract
In this study, the concentrations of unchanged ibuprofen in plasma have been determined by high performance liquidchromatography after taking sustained-release capsule of ibuprofen or fenbid. In a randomized cross study, the bioavailability werestudied in 10 healthy male volunteers. The pharmacokintic parameters of the sustained-release capsules of ibuprefen and fenbidwere:Tmx4.22+_ 0.73h and 4.10+_ 0.83h.Cmx15.97+_ 2.84mg/L and 16.76+_ 2.92mg/L,AUC 147.75+_ 28.78mg/(L' h) and 154.16+_ 26.76mg/(L' h)respectively. There were no statistically significant differences between the sustained-release capsules of ibuprofen and fenbid onany of the following pharmacokinetic parameters:Tmx,Cmx and AUC(P0.05). The relative bioavailability of the sustained'releasecapsules of ibuprofen to fenbid was 96.07%. These results suggest that the bioavailability of the two preparations is similar.
