Abstract

To study the relationship of the expression of survivin (SVV) and nm23H1 protein with histological type, pathological grading and metastasis. Immunohistochemical method was used to investigate the expression of SVV and nm23H1 gene in 52 cases of gallbladder carcinoma, 20 eases of gallbladder adenoma and 20 cases of chromic cholecystis. The positive rate of SVV and nm23H1 was 67. 3% and 51. 9% , respectively. The high level expression of SVV and the low expression of nm23H1 were positively correlated with the pathological gvading, serosa infiltration and metastasis in gallbladder carcinoma (P0. 05). The expression of SVV was a reverse correlation wth nm23H1 expression in gallbladder carcinoma (x2 =5.75, P0.05). Expression of SVV and nm23H1 could be helpful in predicting the biological behavior and prognosis of gallbladder carcinoma.
