Abstract

Objective: To study the relationship of the expression of survivin (SVV), nm23H1 and PTEN protein with the pathology, differentiation and metastasis of gallbladder cancer. Methods: Immunohistochemical method was used to investigate the expression of SVV, nm23H1 and PTEN gene in 52 cases of gallbladder carcinoma, 20 cases of gallbladder adenoma and 20 cases of chromic cholecystitis. Results: The positive rate of SVV, nm23H1 and PTEN was 67.3%, 51.9% and 42.3% respectively. The expressions of SVV were positively correlated with the pathological grading, serosa infiltration and metastasis in gallbladder carcinoma (P0.05). The expression of SVV had a reverse correlation with nm23H1 and PTEN expression in gallbladder carcinoma (P0.05). Conclusion: Expression of SVV, nm23H1 and PTEN could be helpful in predicting the biological behavior and prognosis of gallbladder carcinoma.
