Abstract
Objective To study the hand disinfection solution containing polyhexamethylene guanidine and ethanol as the main germicidal ingredients and to know its germicidal efficacy. Methods Suspension quantitative germicidal test and on-the-spot trial were used to carry out observation. Results The stock solution of the hand disinfection solution contained polyhexamethylene guanidine 4128 mg/L and 62.64%(v/v)ethanol.The average killing logarithm values of Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus exposed to 25%(v/v)stock solution of the hand disinfection solution for 0.5 min were 7.35 and 5.46 respectively and the average killing logarithm value of Canida albicans exposed to the stock solution of the hand disinfection solution for 0.5 min was 6.39.50%(v/v)calf serum in the bacterial suspension had no significant influence on the germicidal efficacy of the hand disinfection solution.Wiping disinfection of the hands with the stock solution of the hand disinfection solution for 1 min killed the natural bacteria on hands by a logarithm of 1.56 in average. Conclusions The hand disinfection solution has good germicidal efficacy and the organic substance has no significant influence on its germicidal efficacy.
