Abstract

Objective To know the disinfection property of a quick hand disinfection solution and to observe its germicidal efficacy.Methods Carrier quantitative germicidal test and on-the-spot disinfection trial were used to carry out experiment.Results The killing rates of Escherichia coli,Staphylococcus aureus and Candida albicans on carriers exposed to the stock solution of the quick hand disinfection solution containing benzalkonium chloride 879 mg/L for 0.5 min attained 100%.50%(v/v) calf serum influenced slightly the germicidal efficacy of the disinfection solution.Wiping the hands of volunteers with the stock solution of the disinfection solution for 1 min killed over 90% of the natural bacteria on hands and the residual bacterial colony count on hands met the national sanitary standard..Conclusion The quick hand disinfection solution has good efficacy in killing regetative forms of bacteria and fungi and good efficacy in disinfection of hands of volunteers.
