Abstract
OBJECTIVE:To analyze clinical efficacy and safety of amlodipine in the treatment of primary hypertension.METHODS:76 patients with primary hypertension were randomly divided into control group(n=35) and treatment group(n=41).Control group were treated with captopril 12.5 mg once a day and treatment group were given amlodipine 5 mg once a day.The change of blood pressure was recorded during treatment.Blood pressure index at 10th day before and after treatment were used to evaluate clinical efficacy.RESULTS:After treatment systolic blood pressure and diastolic blood pressure were significantly decreased, there was significant difference before and after treatment(P0.01);the decrease of systolic blood pressure in treatment group was smaller than in control group while there had no significant difference. In control group effective rate was 28.57% and total response rate was 57.14%.In treatment group effective rate was 75.61% and total response rate was 87.80%.There were significant difference in effective rate and total response rate between two groups(P0.01).CONCLUSION:Amlodipine is superior to captopril in the treatment of primary hypertension.
