Analysis of Death Causes of Residents in Wenzhou City in 2009

Abstract

Objective By analyzing the leading causes of deaths in order to provide the reference for making the preventive methods.Methods The analysis of death causes was based on the data of Disease Surveillance District in Wenzhou city during 2009,which classified according to ICD-10.The standardized death rate was calculated with the data of population census in 2000.Results The crude death rate of residents in 2009 in the city of Wenzhou was 545.16 per 100000 and the standardized death rate was 411.86 per 100000.The top 5 causes of deaths was malignant neoplasm,cerebrovascular diseases,heart diseases,respiratory diseases,injury and poisoning,which contribute to 82.39% in all death causes.Conclusion The chronic diseases and injures were the main causes of deaths in Wenzhou in 2009.
