Analysis of Causes of Death Among the Residents in Wenzhou City 2006

OBJECTIVE To understand on the mortality level and death causes and the characteristic among inhabitants in Wenzhou,and to provide the reference for making the preventive methods. METHOD The analysis of death causes is based on the data of Disease surveillance district in Wenzhou City 2006,the classification of death cause was confined with ICD-10. The standardized death rate was calculated with the data of population census from china in 2000. RESULTS The crude death rate was 524.98 per 105 and the standardized death rate was 434.94 per 105. The sequence of death cause was malignant neoplasm,brain vascular diseases,respiratory diseases,heart disease,injuries. The total proportion ratio between the five leading death causes was 78.36% in all death causes. CONCLUSION The chronic diseases and injures were the main cause of death in Wenzhou 2006. Therefore,it is very improtant that prevention and control of the chronic diseases and injury be enhanced.
