On Poems on Paintings about Tao Yuanming in Yuan Dynasty

Abstract

Yuan dynasty is an important period in the development of poems on paintings.As a typical image,Tao Yuanming appeared in paintings which were added by poems.These poems reflected the obsession for seclusion,appreciation for Tao Yuanming's noble and unsullied charactor and admiration for his artistic life.These poems are rich in thoughts,which is helpful in understanding TaoYuanming 's ideals,pursuit of beauty and his deep influence in Yuan dynasty and later generations
