Poetic Realm in Tao Yuanming's Historical Poems

As a pastoral poet,Tao Yuanming also wrote a lot of poems in praise of history,which promoted this type of poetry to a new level in terms of artistic realm.This is mainly reflected in four aspects:historical objects in his poems are praised and appreciated as aesthetic ones instead of being commented and complained simply.The praised objects are identified with his own character,a metaphor of his ideal personality with his rich life experience embodied in artistic images.The perspectives he employed in his poems include historical rules of human beings and the background of the universe,therefore,his poems are really of greater depth and breadth.
