Abstract
Objectives:Evaluating the incidence of anxiety or depression in the cardiovascular diseases patients with or without heart failure by using the serf-rating anxiety scale(SAS),self-rating depression scale(SDS)and hospital anxiety and depression scales(HADS). Methods:It was a prospective and cross-sectional study. There were 256 cardiovascular diseases patients(hypertension, coronary heart disease),enrolled the study consecutively, including 126 patients with heart failure(HF group)and 130 patients without heart failure.Under the instructions of the doctors, the patients filled in the SAS/SDS(n = 143)or HADS(n=113) scales themselves. The baseline characteristics of the patients, and the scores of different serf-rating scales were analyzed by SPSS 11.0. Results:①The incidences of anxiety were 32.5% and 20.0%(P=0.022),depression were 31.7% and 16.9%(P= 0.006)in HF or NHF group separately.②The diagnostic sensitivity of the HADS is higher than the SAS/SDS(P0.05),how- ever, the diagnostic sepicifieity of the SAS/SDS is higher than the HADS(P0.05). Conclusions:There is a higher incidence of anxiety and depression in the patients with heart failure. However the current self-rating scales do not fully meet the clinical practice demand.
