Abstract

Objective:To investigate the situation of anxiety, depression and some related factors in Chinese heart failure patients. Methods:Self-rating anxiety scale(SAS) and self-rating depression scale(SDS) were distributed to the heart failure patients in Heart Failure Care Unit of Fu Wai Hospital. The baseline characteristics were analyzed by SPSS and the relationship between these data and the SAS/SDS scores was determined. Results:Out of the 112 heart failure patients 20.5%had anxiety and 30.4%had depression. A statistic significance was found between gender,NYHA class, cardiovascular disease family history, blood groups, length of hospital stay, and levels of CRP/hsCRP/NT-proBNP versus the scores of SAS/SDS. Conclusion:There are high frequencies of anxiety and depression in heart failure patients, which importance should be attached to in the clinical practice.
