Abstract
Objective To study the demands and utilization of community health services for chronic disease populations,and explore community health service model to adapt to the needs of the chronically ill,so as to provide references for the management and decision of the community health service. Methods The population was sampled by multi-stage random cluster sampling. An questionnaire survey and interview investigation was made to study the utilization and demand of community health service. Results Proportion of the number of total survey of over 60 years old with chronic diseases is 53. 45%. The most desirable services for community residents was regular medical examinations(78. 92%),the second was to provide health services(56. 13%). The most desirable health care knowledge was knowledge of the prevention and treatment of common chronic diseases(89. 13%),followed by lifestyle guide(49. 86%). The way to acquire these knowledge mainly from television,radio(73. 64%). It is about 82. 38% people willing to accept the community health service. The main visited hospitals were community hospitals,which is 39. 74%. The second was selected to the district hospital and military hospital,accounted for 33. 84% and 25. 74% respectively. Conclusion The people with chronic diseases is the key population of community health service in Chongqing community. We should be guided by the demand-driving, strengthen the work of community health services,organized and provided a diverse,full range of health care,optimized the health resource,so as to improve the quality of life.
