Utiliaztion and demand of community health service among the elderly in a community of Taiyuan

Objective To explore the utilization and demand of community health service among community elderly population and to provide reliable evidence for developing community health service.Methods With cluster sampling in four community-based health services,257 eledrly clients above 65 years old were selected to receive a face-to-face interview.SPSS 12.0 statistical package was used to analyze influencing factors.Results There were 77.8% of the eledrly selecting community health service for disease treatment.The overall satisfaction rate for commnnity health service was 46.34% among the elderly.Among the elderly,60.2%perfered health service facility in the community nearby and 17.9% did not need medical service at the interview.Conclusion Capacity of community health service needs to be improved for the potential demand of health service.
