Abstract
Objective To evaluate the clinical effects of hydroxyapative orbital implant with suture.Methods 85 cases(85 eyes)of enucleation and implantation of hydroxyapatite orbital implant were boserved.Results Follow-up ranged from 12 to 36 months(meanly,18 months).All patients were successfully fit with prostheses.Prosthetic motility was acceptable in each patient.Conjunctiva incision in 82 of 85 cases totally recovered.conjunctival thinning occurred in 2 cases and hydroxyopatite implant exposure in 1 case.No complication of bleeding or infection observed.Conclusion The HA with suture implants implanted in orbital space give good cosmetic results with good motility of the artifical eye and is associated with a low rate of complications.
