Abstract

Purpose:To evaluate the efficacy and toxicity of the combination of oxaliplatin(Oxa), fluorouracil and calcium folinate in the treatment of patients with advanced stomach cancer.Methods:26 patents with advanced stomach cancer confirmed by pathology were enrolled into the study. The patients received Oxa 130 mg/m 2 iv, 3 h and calcium folinate 200 mg/m 2 iv,on day 1 5, and fluorouracil 500 mg/m 2, iv, 6 h, day 1 5, 3 weeks is a cycle. 3 cycles were carried out. Results:The overall response rate was 50%. The overall response of the control was 33.3%. There was no obvious difference between overall response rates of two groups ( P 0 05) The progression free median duration of responsive patients was 7.1 months in Oxa CF 5 Fu group and 5.4 months in control ( P 0 05). The major side effects include phlebitis and peripheral neuritis. Conclusions:Combination of Oxa, CF and 5 FU is an effective regimen in the treatment of patients with advanced stomach cancer. [
