Abstract

Objective To investigate the clinical efficacy of endoscopic surgery in the treatment of nasal polyps and chronic sinusitis. Methods The clinical data of 100 cases with nasal polyps and chronic sinusitis underwent surgical treatment from January 2012 to January 2013 in our hospital were retrospectively analyzed. All patients were randomly divided into the group A and the group B according to the different treatment methods, each group had 50 cases, the patients in the group A were treated with endoscopic surgery, while the patients in the group B were treated with conventional surgery. The total effective rate and postoperative complications, including postoperative bleeding, fever, nasal adhesions, maxillary sinus stenosis or atresia, were compared between the group A and the group B. Results The total effective rate of the group A and the group B were 92.0%,70.0% respectively, the difference was significant in the total effective rate between the two groups(x2=5.273,P 0.05);No a case in the group A happened postoperative bleeding and infection, while all patients in the group B happened bleeding, fever, nasal adhesions, maxillary sinus stenosis or atresia, the incidence of complication of the two groups were 6.7%,30.0% respectively, the difference was significant between the two groups(x2=9.238,P 0.05). Conclusion Endoscopic surgery in the treatment of nasal polyps and chronic sinusitis has better efficacy, and is easy to operate, also has minimally invasive, good safety, fewer complications, and is suitable for the wide popularization and application of the grassroots units.
