Analysis of Death Caused by Injury of Resident in Tongling City in 2000～2004

Abstract
Objective To understand death status caused by injury in Tongling city and provide the basis for prevention and control of injury.Methods Data was collected from the annual statistic reports on death cause.Mortality rate,standardized mortality rate,years of potential life lost(YPLL) and YPLL rate were used to analyze the death status of injury.Results The annual average mortality rate was 29.86/10~(5)and the standardized mortality rate was 29.3/10~(5).The sex odd of mortality(The ratio of male to female) was 1.7∶1.YPLL and YPLL rate of injuries were 11999.5 person-year and 9.5‰ respectively.The leading injuries in death cause were traffic incidents,unintentional fall,suicide,drowning,other injuries.Conclusions The death caused by injury had become a chief death cause in Tongling city.In order to reduce mortality rate of injuries,it was important to strengthen prevention and control of traffic injury.
