Abstract
Objective To analyse the feature of death cause of injury and evaluate the severity of injury among rural population in Huixian. Methods Mortality,YPLL and WYPLL were calculated to analyse the death cause of injury. Results The standard mortality of injury was 70.27/100 000, becoming the fourth cause of death and the rate of male was higher than that of female. The standard rate of YPLL of injury death was 21.60%, making up 30.41% of the total YPLL while the standard rate of WYPLL being 17.20%, making up 34.56% of the total WYPLL. The standard rate of YPLL and WYPLL had become the first cause of death in Huixian, and it was higher than total rate of China. The four leading causes in standard mortality and the rate of YPLL and WYPLL were traffic accident, suicide, drowning and falls. Conclusions Injury was an important public health problem which seriously affected the life and health of rural populations and it was the leading cause of YPLL and WYPLL in Huixian.
