Abstract
Objective: To investigate the clinical efficacy and safety of Bushen Zhuanggu Decoction for the treatment of patients with ankylosing spondylitis. Methods: 86 patients with ankylosing spondylitis patients were divided into observation group and control group. The control group patients were given sulfadiazine tablets treatment and the observation group were given Bushen Zhuanggu Decoction. The disease activity index, functional index, night pain, spinal pain and TCM symptom score and serum C-reactive protein and erythrocyte sedimentation rate, the efficient rate and adverse reactions before and after treatment were observed. Results: The disease activity index, functional index, night pain, spinal pain and TCM symptom score and serum C- reactive protein and erythrocyte sedimentation rate of the observed group were better than those of the control group( P 0. 05). The efficient rate of the observation group were higher than that of the control group( 86. 1% vs 72. 1%,P 0. 05) and no significant adverse reactions was found. Conclusion: Bushen Zhuanggu Decoction can improve the disease activity index, functional index, night pain, spinal pain and TCM symptoms score of patients with ankylosing spondylitis, improve the efficiency of treatment and has no significant adverse reactions, which shows that it is safey and worthy of further study.
