Effect of Bixue capsule on the nonalcoholic fatty liver disease in rats

[Objective]To investigate the preventive and therapeutic effect of Bixue capsule on anti-non-alcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD)in rats.[Methods]Seventy SD rats were divided randomly into normal control group,model control group,Simvastatin and Xuezhikang capsule control group,low-,middle-and high-dose Bixue capsule group.The rats in the treatment groups were fed with corresponding medicine and high fat diet.After 30 days of treatment,blood-fat and liver function were measured by biochemical test.Liver tissues were detected by HE staining.[Results]In the middle-and high-dose group of Bixue capsule,the levels of ALT,AST,TBA and TC were significantly decreased,the level of HDL-C was significantly increased,and the liver steatosis was visibly improved,as compared to the model group(P0.05).There was no significant difference in the effect between Bixue capsule of high-dose group and Xuezhikang or Simvastatin group(P0.05).[Conclusion]Bixue capsule could significantly reduce the levels of blood lipids,improve liver function and histopathological fatty changes in NAFLD of rats.Its effect was evenly similar to simvastatin.
