Abstract
OBJECTIVE To isolate, purify the polysac ch aride of Aloe barbadensis Miller and establish the content determination method.METHOD The polysaccharide was precipitated with ethanol and fur ther purified on Sephadex G-100 column. Its total soluble sugar content was det ected colorimetrically by the phenol-sulfuric acid method with mannose as stand ard. RESULTS The total sugar content of polysaccharide I was 81.11%. The average recovery was 100.3%. CONCLUSION It is possible to extract and isolate purified polys accharide from Aloe barbadensis Miller. And the determination method is simple, rapid and well reproducible.
