Abstract
Objective To understand the status of hand hygiene among township health center medical staff and its influencing factors after enacting Standard for hand hygiene for healthcare workers in healthcare settings by the Ministry of health.Methods The questionnaire survey was conducted for the knowledge about hand hygiene of the medical staff and hand hygiene facilities;The performance of hand hygiene in the medical staff was checked.Results The implementation rate of hand hygiene in the medical staff was 21.5 percent.There were statistical difference(P0.01) before and after contact with patients in the performance of hand hygiene.The compliance rate of Nurses was 28.7% better than that 12.8% of the doctors with a significant difference(P0.01).Conclusion The knowledge about hand hygiene in township hospital medical staff is relatively low and consciousness is not strong with low execution rate of hand hygiene.The more attention should be paid for increasing performance rate of hand hygiene by enhancing the training,education,and improving hand hygiene facilities,and so on.
