PRESENT STATUS OF HAND HYGIENE AMONG MEDICAL STAFF

Abstract

Objective To know the present status of hand hygiene compliance rate of medical staff and correlation factors in our hospital,in order to increase the quality of hand hygiene.Methods Questionnaires and on-site check method were used to investigate the status of hand hygiene among medical staff in the hospital.Results The hand hygiene compliance rate is less than 50%.The hand-washing compliance and correctness of physicians are much lower than that of nurses.The main influence factors are the heavy workload and the inconvenience of facilities for hand washing.Conclusions The hand hygiene compliance of medical staff in our hospital is not satisfied.Strengthen the management and training will improve the quality of hand hygiene.
