Study on Toxicity of Emamectin Benzoate Preparations

Objective To evaluate the acute toxicity of emamectin benzoate preparations. Methods Acute oral toxicity test,acute dermal toxicity test on rats,eye and dermal irritation test on rabbits and skin sensitization test on guinea pigs were conducted with 10 different emamectin benzoate preparations according to GB15670-1995 Toxicological Test Methods of Pesticide for Registration. Results The acute oral and dermal toxicity tests showed that all preparations belonged to low toxicity. Irritation test showed that all preparations had no irritation effect on skin of rabbits and most of them had certain irritation effect on eyes of rabbits. Skin sensitization test showed no skin sensitization was caused by preparations. Conclusions Emamectin benzoate preparations belong to low toxicity pesticides,protecting the eyes of user should be pay attention to.
