Clinical observation of Vitapex paste root canal one-time filling in the treatment of chronic periapical periodontitis of deciduous teeth

Objective To observe the therapeutic efficacy of Vitapex paste root canal one-time filling in the treatment of chronic periapical periodontitis of deciduous teeth.Methods 162 cases of periodontitis of deciduous teeth were randomly assigned to treatment group and control group.Procedures of conventional caries removal,cavity preparation,myeloid top exposure and root canal preparation were carried out in both groups.Root canal were filled with Vitapex paste stably using a syringe in the treatment group while in the control group root canal were filled with ZOE paste slowly using a spiral root canal.The clinical effects of the two groups were observed in the 1-2 years follow-up.Results The response rate after 1 week of the treatment group was significantly lower than that of the control group(P 0.05);and overfilling absorption rate was also higher in the treatment group(P 0.01);there were no significant difference between the two groups in treatment success rates(P 0.05).Conclusion Vitapex paste root canal one-time filling has low response rate and high overfilling absorption rate in the treatment of chronic periapical periodontitis of deciduous teeth,thus is an effective way to reserve deciduous teeth till there were replaced by the permanent teeth.
