Comparison of three kinds of root canal disinfection medications in the treatment of periapical periodontitis in deciduous teeth

Abstract

90 deciduous teeth with periapical periodontitis were randomly assigned to 3 groups(n=30).After regular root canal preparation Vitapex paste was given in group A,calcium hydroxide paste in group B and cotton ball of camphor phend in group C for root canal disinfection.The effects was observed 1 week after medication placement.The disinfection effects had no significant difference between Vitapex paste and calcium hydroxide(P0.05).But camphor phend showed poor effect(P0.05).Vitapex paste as root canal disinfection medication is effective and easy for use in the treatment of apical periodontitis in deciduous teeth.
