Clinical analysis of two kinds of root canal filling paste filling deciduous teeth root canal

Abstract

Objective To explore the clinical efficacy of calcium hydroxide iodoform paste(Vitapex) used for root canal filling of primary teeth.Methods Total 87 children(113 teeth)with periapical periodontitis admitted to our hospital were randomly divided into observation group and control group.The observation group was treated with Vitapex paste in root canal filling and the control group was used with zinc oxide eugenol paste in root canal filling.Pain in a week and clinical efficacy half an year after treatment were observed in two group.Results In a week,the rate of pain of the observation group was significantly lower than that of the control group(5.36% Vs.19.29%,P0.05).There was on significant difference of the success rate of surgery between the two groups(96.43% Vs.92.98%,P0.05).Conclusion Vitapex paste used for primary teeth root canal filing is effective with less pain,which is better than zinc oxide eugenol paste.
