Application and Research of Holistic Nursing Care in Malignant Tumor Patients

Objective To explore the effect of holistic nursing care on patients with malignant tumors so as to improve the quality of nursing care.Methods Two hundred patients with malignant tumors hospitalized in Central Hospital of PetroChina from January 2010 to December 2011 were enrolled in this study.All patients were randomly divided into study group and control group(each n=100).The patients of control group were given conventional nursing care.According to patients’conditions,patient-centered nursing,including lifestyle improvement,medication guidance,psychological nursing and life sign observation,was applied to study group.Before and after the nursing,the rates of nursing satisfaction were compared between the two groups.SF-36 scale was used to evaluate all patients’nursing qualities and the exercise of self-care agency scale(ESCA) was employed to determine all patients’self-care abilities.Results The rate of nursing satisfaction of control group(74%) was lower than that of study group(91%),and the difference was statistically significant(P0.05).The total quality of life of study group(188.44±22.46) was significantly higher than that of control group(142.64±23.43),and the difference was statistically significant(P0.05).The self-care ability of control group(81.54±18.45) was significantly lower than that of study group(125.64±23.95),there were statistically significant differences between the two groups(P0.05).Conclusions Holistic nursing care can significantly improve malignant tumor patients’life qualities,promote nursing ability,and in
