Relative carrying capacity of resources and sustainable development problems in Hebei Province

This paper calculates the relative carrying capacity of land resources, economic resources and synthetic resources of Hebei Province from 1978~1995. The process of evolution has been analysed and conclusions have been drawn: ①the synthetic carrying capacity of resources of Hebei Province surpassed its real population and Hebei Province has gone into the state of relative affluence since 1978; ②the contribution of land resources to the synthetic capacity in Hebei Province are greater than that of economic resources, so the land resources are the principal resources to support population; ③the incoordination between the relative carrying capacity of land resources and that of economic resources is a significant problem to be solved in the strategy of sustainable development in Hebei province;calculates and analyses the present condition of the relative carrying capacity of resources and draws two conclusions: ①the synthetic carrying capacity of resources of Hebei Province is in a state of overload in the East of China; ②regions differ in the relative carrying capacity of resources.
