Abstract
Objective To study the expression and significance of VEGF in endometrial carcinoma. Methods The expression of VEGF was detected by immunohistochemistry in 50 cases of endometrial adenocarcinoma, 10 cases of endometrial complex hyperplasia and 10 cases of normal endometrium. Results The positive rates of VEGF in endometrial carcinoma, endometrial complex hyperplasia and normal endometrium were 74%(37/50), 20%(2/10), 10%(1/10), respectively. The statistical analysis showed that the positive rates of VEGF in endometrial carcinoma were significantly higher than that in complex hyperplasia and normal endometrium(P0.05).The expression of VEGF had no relationship with clinical stage, histological grading, muscular invasion and patients' age(P0.05). Conclusion The over-expression of VEGF has relationship with the oncogenesis in endometrial carcinoma. But it can not be used as a new index for judging progression and prognosis in endometrial carcinoma.
