Abstract

Objective To explore the effect of non-drug comprehensive regimen based on acupuncture and massage in treatment of nerve root type cervical spondylosis. Methods Seventy cases of patients with cervical radiculopathy were randomly divided into control group and observation group, 35 cases in each group. The control groupwas given non-drug comprehensive treatment dominated by physical therapy, while the observation group adopted a non-drug comprehensive treatment based acupuncture and massage. The clinical efficacy, the main symptoms scores before and after the treatment and quality of life scores were compared. Results(1)The clinical total effective rate of control group was74.29%, and it was significantly lower than that of the observation group(94.29%), the difference was significant(P0.05);(2) The neck and shoulder limb pain VAS score, frequency degrees of neck and shoulder limb pain, the duration of neck and shoulder limb pain, the upper extremity numbness scores in two groups after treatment were significantly lower than that before treatment(P0.05 or P0.01), and the extent of the main symptoms score in observation group decreased significantly greater than in the control group, the difference was significant(P0.05);(3) The total score of quality of life(172.10±35.93) points of observation group was significantly higher than the control group(126.12 ±23.20) points, the difference was significant(P0.05). Conclusion The clinical efficacy of non- drug regimen of nerve root type cervical spondylosis based on acupuncture and massage proves to be significant.
