Abstract

Objective To investigate the significance of the change of interleukin-8interleukin-10 and tumor necrosis factor-α levels in acute myocardial infarction (AMI) patients. Methods Levels of serum interleukin-8, interleukin-10 and tumor necrosis factor-α were assayed by ELISA in 40 normal subjects, 35 AMI patients and 25 unstable angina (UA) patients. Serum interleukin-8, interleukin-10 and tumor necrosis factor-α levels in the 35 AMI and 25 UA patients were examined after 1 week and 6 weeks of treatment. Results The level of serum interleukin-8, interleukin-10 and tumor necrosis factor-α in AMI and UA patients were significantly higher than those in healthy people, respectively (P 0.01), The levels of serum interleukin-8, interleukin-10 and tumor necrosis factor-α were significantly decreased after 6 weeks (P 0.01) of treatment in AMI and UA group. Conclusion The change of interleukin-8, interleukin-10 and tumor necrosis factor-α were related to AMI, and play an important role in the development of AMI diseases.
