Abstract
Objectives To observe effects of simvastatin on plasma levels solubility intercellular adhesion molecule-1(sICAM-1),matrix metalloproteinase-9(MMP-9) and C-reactive profein(CRP) in patients of acute coronary syndrome(ACS) after percutaneous coronary intervention(PCI) and clinical significance.Methods Patients with ACS after PCI were randomly assigned into three groups: one group treated with simvastatin 40 mg/d,another group treated with simvastatin 20 mg/d,while the control group without treated with simvastatin.Before and after the four week treatment,the plasma levels of sICAM-1、MMP-9 and CRP were detected.Results After treatments of simvastatin 20 mg or 40 mg,all patients reduced the levels of sICAM-1,MMP-9 and CRP to the levels of the control group;The levels of sICAM-1,MMP-9 and CRP markedly reduced in simvastatin 40 mg group.Conclusions Treatments with high-dose simvastatin(40 mg)for four weeks could reduce the levels of sICAM-1,MMP-9 and CRP,and improve the function of vascular endothelium,which may promote the stabilization of atherosclerotic plaque.
