Abstract

Objective To observe the effct of simvastatin on C reactive protein(CRP) and plasma lipid in early stage of the acute coronary syndrome. Methods 70 patients with acute coronary syndrome were divided randomly into treatment group(simvastatin 10mg/d,n=36) and control group(no lipid-lowering agents,n=34).The level of CRP and plasma lipid before and after treatment were detected. Results Levels of CRP,TC and LDL-C significantly decreased by 35%,30% and 40% in the treatment group. The difference between the control and treatment group was significant(P0.05).There were lower rates of acute myocardial infarction and re-hospitalization in treatment-group than those in control-group.Conclusion Simvastatin can decrease the levels of plasma lipid and inflammatory foctors in early stage of the acute coronary syndrome,so it may benefit atherosclerotic plaque stabilization.
