Abstract

Aim: To explore the changes of the expressions of MMP-9,MIF in fetal membranes and IL-6 level in amniotic fluid of pregnant women with premature rupture of membranes( PROM) or chorioamnionitis( CAM). Methods: A total of 50 full-term pregnant women with PROM( PROM group) and 60 cases without PROM( control group) underwent term cesarean delivery were selected to detect the expressions of MMP-9,MIF in fetal membranes using immunohistochemical method and the level of IL-6 in amniotic fluid using ELISA. Results: The CAM incidence, the level of IL-6 in amniotic fluid, and MMP-9,MIF expressions of PROM group were higher than those of the control group( χ2= 23. 973,t = 5. 817,Z =3. 507,2. 678,P 0. 05). The indexes mentioned above of the women with CAM diagnosed histologically were higher than those of non-CAM women( P 0. 05). Conclusion: PROM and CAM might be causal; imbalance among MMP-9,MIF and IL-6 may lead to CAM.
