Abstract
Methyl Benzoate was synthesized by the esterification of benzoic acid with methl alcohol using chitosan salfate as catalyst. The influences of the amount of the catalyst, reaction time and the ratio of alcohol to acid were studied. The experimental result indicated that when the amount of the catalyst was 1 0 g?reaction time was 4 hrs and the ratio of alcohol to acid was 5∶1,the yield of the product was 91 56% and the catalyst could be used for several times.
A significance statement is not available in the OpenAlex record.
