A study on homocysteine level in patients with coronary heart disease and hypertension

Abstract

Objective To investigate the homocysteine(Hcy) level in the patients with coronary heart disease and hypertension.Methods By using the ELISA method,the serum concentration of total homocysteine(T-Hcy),TG and TC was determined in 22 cases of pure coronary heart disease(CHD),30 cases of essential hypertension(EH),32 cases of coronary heart disease accompanied with hypertension and 12 healthy persons.The results were analysed with relativity.Results The level of T-Hcy in CHD group and EH group was significantly higher than that in normal control group(P0.05).Conclusion T-Hcy is one of independent risk factors in coronary heart disease.There is certain relationship between T-Hcy concentration and hypertension.
