Abstract

Objective To study the effect of Octeotide on liver fibrosis. Methods The therapeutic effect of Octeotide was observed on rat fibrotic model induced by albumin complex. Indexs of liver activity(AST?ALP?T-Bil and ALB) , the severity of liver fibrosis and hepatic Hydroxyproline contents was measured during the processes. Results Numerical value of AST,ALP and T-Bil in Octeotide treatment group were lower than those in model group, but ALB was higher. Liver fibrosis was significant lightened and hepatic Hydroxyproline contents was reduced by using Octeotide. Conlusion Octeotide may protect the rat liver from hepatic cell injury in the processes of liver fibrosis, and may increase the antifibrotic effect in practice.
