Effect of XinFuKang on left ventricular remodeling and enhancing angiogenesis after myocardial infarction in rats

Abstract

[Objective] To study the impact of XinFuKang on left ventricular remodeling (LVRM) and angiogenesis after myocardial infarction (MI) in rats. [Methods] The model of myocardial infarction was induced by ligating the descending left coronary artery in male rats. Twenty-four hours later, 48 survied rats with AMI were randomly divided into myocardial infarction control group, sham-operated group, Xinkukang middle dose group and Xinfukang high dose group. After four weeks of therapy,cardia tissue section were observed by immunohistochemistry. [Results] Compared to sham operated, Xinfukang high dose group can enhance angiogenesis and inhibit collagen fibers increased and disordered. [Conclusion] Xinfukang can prevent LVRM after MI in rats, prohibit collagen fibers hyperplasia and enhance angiogenesis.
