Objective To observe the clinical effect of Chinese and western medicine in the treatment of subacute cough in Panxi area. Methods 225 cases patients with subacute cough were randomly divided into Chinese medicine group (115 cases) and western medicine group (110cases) ,each group was divided into postinfectious cough subgroup, cough variant asthma subgroup and bacterial sinusitis subgroup. Chinese medicine group were treated with self-made Runfeizhike decoction, and western medicine group were treated with prednisone and compound codeine. Observed the cough symptom score of 2 groups. Results After treatment, the cough symptom score of postinfectious cough subgroup of 2 groups was lower than before treatment, and Chinese medicine group was lower than western medicine group, the difference was statistically significant (P0.05 or P0.01) ; after treatment, the cough symptom score of cough variant asthma subgroup of western medicine group was lower than Chinese medicine group, the difference was statistically significant (P0.05 or P0.01) ; before and after treatment, the cough symptom score of bacterial sinusitis subgroup of 2 groups had no significant difference (P0. 05) . Conclusion Clinical should give different medications according to different diseases of patients,in order to obtain a better therapeutic effect.
