Abstract
Objective To investigate the expression of MACC1 and its relationship with angiogensis in gastric carcinoma. Methods Expressions of MACC1 and CD34-stained microvessel density( MVD) were detected by immunohistochemical assay in gastric carcinoma tissues,adjacent tissues from 45 cases. The correlations between MACC1 expressions and clinic pathological parameters as well as MVD were analyzed. Results The positive MACC1 expressions in gastric carcinoma tissues were significantly higher than those in adjacent tissues( P 0. 05). They were related to tumor size,TNM stage,histological differentiation,depth of invasion and lymphatic metastasis( P 0.05). There was a significant positive correlation between MACC1 expressions and MVD. Conclusions MACC1 is specifically over-expressed in gastric carcinoma and may be involved in the angiogenesis and plays an important role in the initiation and progression of gastric carcinoma.
