Abstract
Objective The aim of this study is to investigate the relationship of MVD and pathological factors of gastric carcinoma by use of CD34 monocolon antibody labeling vascular endothelial cell of gastric carcinoma. Methods The expressions of CD34 antigen in 52 ceases of gastric carcinoma tissues,10 cases of paracarcinoma tissues and 16 cases of normal gastric mucosa tissues were examined by use of S-P immunohistochemistry. To calculate the number of microvessel labelled by anti-CD34 monoclonal antibody. Results Staining of CD34 was easy to identify because of its high specificity, sensitivity and clear background.MVD in gastric carcinoma tissues was significantly higher than in normal gastric mucosa tissues ( P0.01) and in paracarcinoma tissues( P0.05). MVD was related to the size of tumor, depth of invasion, distant organ metastasis and TNM stage( P0.05). Conclusion CD34 antigen is a good vascular endothelial cell marker.Angiogenesis is related to growth, invasion, metastasis and development of gastric carcinoma.
