Analysis of Irrational Prescriptions in Outpatient Department in Our Hospital from January to september 2013

Objective: The irrational prescriptions in outpatient department of our hospital were analyzed to improve the quality of prescription,to promote the rational use of drugs and to provide the reference for clinical rational use of drug. Methods: 4500 pieces of prescriptions from January to September 2013,were randomly selected for evaluating and analyzing the rationality of prescription drugs. Results: 569 pieces of prescriptions were found irrational which accounted for 12. 6% of the total number of spot checks. The irrational prescriptions mainly manifested in the diagnosis not conforming to drugs,repeated drug,drugs selected not suitable,usage and dosage not suitable,incompatibility,adverse interaction and so on. Conclusion: The outpatient prescription drug in our hospital was basically reasonable,but there were still some problems. The review and intervention of outpatient prescriptions were suggested to be strengthened,so that the clinical medication would be ensured safe,economic and effective.
