Abstract
OBJECTIVE:To investigate and analyze the outpatient prescriptions in our hospital and discuss the countermeasures so as to improve the level of rational drug use.METHODS: A total of 18 000 irrational outpatient prescriptions(1 500 monthly) collected between Oct.2010 and Sept.2011 from our hospital were analyzed and evaluated with Hospital management standard on prescription comments(trial) issued by ministry of health,clinical pharmaceutical knowledge,drug package inserts and pertinent literature as references.RESULTS: On average,3.32 drugs were prescribed per prescription,and the average drug cost per prescription stood at 62.85 Yuan.Of the total 18 000 outpatient prescriptions,1 695(9.42%) were irrational.The irrational prescriptions manifested mainly as improper dosage and administration,repeated administration,incompatibility of medicines,improper indications,and nonstandard prescriptions etc.CONCLUSION: The rationality of outpatient prescriptions has improvement;however,the irrational drug use problem is still serious.Measures should be taken aimed at the problems to ensure safe and effective drug use.
