Abstract

The ecological footprint is the way to measure the degree of human make use of nature which have already been applied in measure the quantitative valuation of sustainable development of district or city.According to the data of the statistical annual of Chengdu in 2006,the author calculates and analyzes the ecological footprints of Chengdu in 2005.The result indicates that the ecological deficit per capita of Chengdu was 0.92 hm2 in 2005,which reflects the human load has already stayed beyond the regional bio-capacity,and sustainable development of Chengdu was not optimism.The paper also offers some countermeasures to solve this problem.
