The Combination of Form and Artistic Conception——on the Translation of Chinese Classical Poems

Poetry translation is using anther language to express the form and sense of the original poems,which enables the target language reader to share the similar feeling and impression with the source language reader.The Chinese classical poetry is concise in language,regular in form,rich in content,rigid in rhyme,and various in figures of speech,with artistic conception as its soul.Consequently,the translation of artistic conception is important for poetry translation.What is more,the Chinese characters are unique in form and antithesis.Thus,when translating the poems,translating the form is one aspect,and getting into the deep structure to work out the sense and artistic conception is another important aspect.Only in that case,can the translation combine the likeness in form and likeness in spirit well.
