Reflection on the Aesthetic Imagery of Classical Chinese Poems and Their English Translation

Imagery and artistic conception function as the soul of classical Chinese as well as the standard for aesthetic appraisement. In terms of the unique features of classical Chinese poetry, the paper discusses the conversion of meaning and poetic flavor in translation and holds that it is the crux of reproducing the poems in the target language so as to bring forth again the imagery and artistic conception of the source poem.
